The International Financial Centre British Columbia (IFC BC) promotes British Columbia as a location for investment and encourages corporations to take advantage of the favourable tax treatment available under the International Financial Activity Act (IFAA).

The IFAA provides the legislative framework for the International Financial Activity (IFA) program, which offers a refund on provincial income taxes to corporations and individuals carrying on international financial business in British Columbia.

Services to members include:

  • Advocating on behalf of members by serving as the liaison with government.
  • Consultation and direction on how the IFAA can benefit members.
  • Relevant financial research and policy information.
  • Information on law firms, accounting firms, real estate and other service providers.
  • Conferences and special events to educate and connect business leaders from Canada and around the world.
  • A wide range of publications including membership directories, quarterly newsletters, and information pamphlets.

Further details on the IFA program can be found in Bulletin IFA 001, International Financial Activity Overview. The IFA program is administered by the BC Ministry of Small Business and Revenue, Revenue Programs Division, Income Taxation Branch. For more information regarding the legislation or registration in the IFA program with the Province of British Columbia, please visit their website.
